Loerick and return - webTrainSim version

Taking a quick look to the left, as we depart ASG D Graphics15 Platz 2, to catch the sun glistening on the water.

webTrainSim has added more traffic to the original 017 activity. Complete testing hasn't been completed but everything is ok out to Loerick and the beginning of the return trip.

Update: After another run, webTrainSim was again stopped at a signal at Brusseler Strasse (between the Prinzenalle 1 and Heerdter stops on the way back to the city). The traffic in the activity has been re-organised a couple of times but whatever problem is causing the signal not to clear is still there. Perhaps up ahead a signal is not being reset when a tram travels out from the Belsenplatz U75 route to join the the main Loerick-Dusseldorf line although that situation seems unlikely since all the traffic (oncoming) moves efficiently on our way out to Loerick. Oh well, it's a good drive out to Loerick (about an hour's duration).

On a quiet Sunday morning, you're given the chance for some driver training. You'll take your tram from Graphics15 Platz ASG out to Loerick, reverse and return to Kaiserslautener ASG. You're required to stop at all stops along the route so watch your Next Station display because you need more practice at pulling up at the stops and taking more care of your passengers. After you turn at Loerick, the Next Station display will misbehave but get back to normal after a couple of stops.

On your Track Monitor at Loerick you'll see the reversing arrow. Pass over it (go about 200 metres past the stop), change ends, switch to reverse and begin the return service.

A couple of other points to note when driving from the number two end: the signals will look as though they haven't cleared - refer continuously to your Traffic Monitor. The Next Station display will put up Press ENTER... as soon as you're within a stop's markers - ignore the message and watch the distance until you have to stop. The windscreen on the number two end is heavily tinted so check the view from the number one end from time to time.

This activity has been compiled into a zip file with Route Riter so you can see what files you need to install.

As is webTrainSim's wont, he's been running this serivce for so long that it's now autumn with a soft morning rain (one of Michael Sinclair's Kosmos environments).

On Oberkasseler Bridge (we've got a Kosmos clear summer environment).

Looking back towards Dusseldorf's main city area. The curved roof of the Tonhalle (concert hall) is just visible in the background.
