Geneva to Chambery via Culoz

Our train led by BB36002 passes the Viaduc de Longeray over the Rhone.
Our train led by BB36002 passes the Viaduc de Longeray over the Rhone. It carries the line from Annemasse. We're just short of Bellegarde.

This activity is still under development but there's a test version available for download.

You're in charge of BB36002, taking your train from Geneva to Chambery via Bellegarde and Culoz. You'll be travelling alongside the Rhone and cross it just after Culoz. Then while journeying to Aix-les-Bains, you'll be alongside Le Bourget-du-Lac.

Remember to sound the horn at each level crossing!

This activity has been compiled into a zip file with Route Riter so you can see what you're files you need to install.

To download, see here.

The Z9500 gets priority over us and departs for Annemasse.

Rolling stock

The Z9500 gets away in front of us.

The following rolling stock is available from a number of sources.

The only loose consists, if any, are of the webTrainSim boxcars, readily available from webTrainSim downloads.

If you use ConBuilder to substitute your own rolling stock, be careful to keep the train lengths roughly the same as the original (i.e., don't increase a train length from, say, 50 wagons, to 100 wagons). Apart from perhaps not fitting on a siding, train speed will change with a heavier load and you could spend longer at any reds.

From Henry Verpiot's site (1) at the bottom of the page:

  • RER trams, Rer_Bem550.zip (25-Nov-03, 2.8Mb)

From Henry Verpiot's site (2), as per order on the page. Note that Henry has Trainsim as his root folder for MSTS. Therefore all his downloads require manually creating a folder for the particular piece of rolling stock and then extracting the files from the zips.

From theTrain.de. You won't see the file name until you click on Download (size) so the name used in theTrain listing is given first. The locos can be downloaded from the Downloads area under Electric_Engines/Switzerland/SBB and the carriages from the Downloads area under Passenger_cars/Switzerland/Unsort.

  • Re 4/4 loco pack SBB/SOB with cabview: SBB_Re440_&_SOB_446.zip (18-Oct-03, 20.461Mb). Note spaces in suggested folder name plus that "&" - webTrainSim changed the folder name to SBB_Re440_SOB_446 so MSTS wouldn't get upset. Re 446 Tesa needs some fixes to its ENGine file so see Small fixes 15 - Re 446 Tesa for those.
