Chambery to Annecy

BB36000 Fret standing at Chambery platform.

You're in charge of a BB36000 electric loco to take tourists and skiers from Chambery to Annecy.

There are some steep grades so test your brakes when you depart Chambery and be alert to speed changes.

Use the Track Monitor to help reduce your speed when the signals indicate a lower speed. You'll be moving into some passing loops, and entry speed into each is 60 km/hr so watch for a reduction in speed, firstly to 75 km/hr. Signals are not spaced at even distances so you could get a surprise!

On one or two occasions, the Track Monitor will indicate a 45 km/hr Restricted speed zone with a red aspect. Be ready to stop at the next signal!

Because you'll have to wait in some passing sidings for the Annecy-Chambery TGV service, your schedule will be slightly disrupted.

Remember to sound the horn at each level crossing!
