<31-Mar-03>: As this month closes, webTrainSim just took a glance at what was line news in March twelve months ago (He didn't babble on like he does now; then each day's line news was short and to the point. Ed). For anybody just starting out with MSTS, webTrainSim would still recommend downloading NALW's Genesis pack. With self-installers to simplify installation, the Genesis packs give a good pointer to the quality of so much freeware that enhances the original simulation. Today some time was spent once again trying to get a SIT point to work; no luck however. There was success though in installing Bruno Astorg's RIO PACA carriages, riopaca4.zip (657kb, MicroRail for Train Simulator), which includes a virtual cab so a push-pull consist can be made. <30-Mar-03>: webTrainSim must have been still trying to cope this morning with the changeover from daylight saving time to ordinary time and nearly missed the update to LGV Med at the Train-sim.com library: lgvm21b.zip (3.5Mb, 29-Mar-03), which gives us the four seasons and fixes some minor signal problems (Train Store users: the six default MSTS routes are required by this install/update). The Alpine Tunnel route is now at version 2, at2.zip (51Mb, 29-Mar-03). It's a 20 mile narrow gauge route from Pitkin, Colarado, to St. Elmo, Co, with plenty of steep grades. While taking a leisurely browse on the 'Net, one link led to another and webTrainSim came across a site with interactive maps of European railways; this page is France with links to other countries. Pierre Gauriat credits Florent Brisou's Rail 21 site for information for his BB 67400 loco; it's well-worth a visit, with detailed technical specifications for all French locos and rolling stock, compiled by a dedicated enthusiast. <29-Mar-03>: At the Train-sim.com library, look for a further update to Mike Simpson's Route Riter to bring it to version 3.8.50, rrit3850.zip (5.8Mb, 28-Mar-03). Those practised in the art of repainting MSTS models might like to consider entering the contest for a new design for the SeaView Doodlebug; blank templates are available in svr58ace.zip> (359kb, 29-Mar-03). Jim England has another repaint, this time of four E8A locos in Erie Lackawanna livery, el4pack.zip> (1.7Mb, 29-Mar-03). Pierre Gauriat has a new BB-class loco, BB 67439 with its own cab and sounds, bb67400.zip (3.65Mb, 20-Mar-03) at his site. His BB67001 is now at version 2 by the way. <28-Mar-03>: Spending too much time playing around with SIT points (see yesterday's line news); have got it to to work in one place on LGV Med but not at other locations - probably trying to break LGV Med's signalling system or suffering the node problem (see AI trains overtaking player trains - a simple solution in the Train-sim.com Activities forum). Anyway, shall press on... It's fun when you get it to work... Anyway, the BB12000 needs some time in the workshop - sounds like a lot of sparking off the pantograph above 80 km/hr. Richard Garber has provided route developers with five sets of building packs at the Train-sim.com library, rg_obj1.zip to rj_obj5.zip (each 2Mb - 3Mb, 27-Mar-03). <27-Mar-03>: Rick Grout has re-released his Spokane, Portland & Seattle 700 steam loco, sps_700a.zip (22Mb, 26-Mar-03), to solve some installation problems with the first download from the Train-sim.com library. A SIT (Stop (a train) In (its) Tracks) point is a new feature for activity designers to use. It enables designers, for example, to path a player train into a passing loop siding and wait for a following AI train to pass on the main. After the AI train has passed, the player train can get a clear signal back onto the main line and continue its trip. To read more about the possibilities, see AI trains overtaking player trains - a simple solution in the Train-sim.com Activities forum. webTrainSim is currently trying this technique in an activity on LGV Med (driving Edouard Staniczek's BB12000).
<26-Mar-03>: Enjoy seeing the sights around Seaview 3 by driving Sally Prestgard's Seaview Tropical Trolley, funspeed.zip (5.5Mb, 25-Mar-03) in the Train-sim.com library. The trolley has its own cab and sounds and is great fun to scoot around in. Just one change which webTrainSim made was to install the trolley in a folder named Spdstr-sv, the same as the ENGine file name, rather than Speedster Sea View as given in Sally's archive; using Spdstr-sv eliminates any possible problems with spaces in the folder name and follows webTrainSim's general rule of keeping the folder name the same as the ENGine file name. By the way, if you don't install the radio and chatter from wabash.zip (8.4Mb, 02-Mar-03), MSTS doesn't complain. An Italian route mentioned is the Savona - Ventimiglia Route available from www.trenomania.it. If you'd like to catch up on all the French MSTS routes, see this page.
<25-Mar-03>: There's plenty of interesting material today in the Train-sim.com library: the Spokane, Portland & Seattle 700 steam loco, not long back from an excursion over the Rockies in Montana, sps_700.zip (23.5Mb, 23-Mar-03) and Denver South Park & Pacific narrow gauge Mogul, Dillon, dspprr_3.zip (1Mb, 23-Mar-03). Both these locos are part of historical associations at www.sps700.org and DSP&P Historical Society respectively. XTracks has been upgraded to V3.5, the version for route builders being xtracksr.zip (15.6Mb, 24-Mar-03) and the standard version, xtracks.zip (2.1Mb, 24-Mar-03) for the rest of us. Bill Scott has given us a set of semi-transparent driver aids, trans_da.zip (271kb, 24-Mar-03); the two download versions of ConBuilder are now available, cb_160f.zip (2.9Mb, 24-Mar-03) if you're installing it for the first time, and cb_160.zip (320kb, 24-Mar-03) with just the EXE to update to V1.6.0. Matt Julian has been hard at work repainting James Brook's B-class locos into V/Line passenger A-class red and blue livery: auvlpa60.zip (1.4Mb, 24-Mar-03), auvlpa62.zip (1.4Mb, 24-Mar-03), auvlpa66.zip (1.4Mb, 24-Mar-03) and auvlpa70.zip (1.4Mb, 24-Mar-03). <24-Mar-03>: Firstly a reminder that there is no longer any point in having separate MSTS installations on your hard drive to speed up MSTS' loading time. All the time and effort taken to organise folders and files to maintain separate installations is made redundant by Tony Formoso's Train Store utility. Even if you only have the six default routes installed, you'll find Train Store to be your number one MSTS utility. It's available at Train-sim.com in download trnstr11.sip (1.3Mb, 18-Feb-02). There's been a good discussion of sound in MSTS at the UK Trainsim sounds forum and will be of interest to those with talent in this area. Activity creators will want to know about a technique to allow a faster train to pass while the slower player train waits in a passing loop. Keep an eye out for an update to ConBuilder - the number two MSTS utility; you'll be able to download either a full install or just an EXE update. Wupper Express 7, a well-known route by Rainer Bluhm & Ralf Kölsche from Graphics 15, is available for download from www.thetrain.de. There are some screenshots in the MSTS Train-sim forum.
<23-Mar-03>: A couple of downloads at Train-sim.com caught webTrainSim's attention: SNCF steam loco 141R, a Mikado 2-8-2, sncf141r.zip (12Mb, 22-Mar-03); Korean National railway GT26CW-2 diesel-electric loco, gt26cw-2.zip (2.8Mb, 22-Mar-03); and Milwaukee Road F7s, milw_f7.zip (4.8Mb, 22-Mar-03). The history of the Milwaukee RR is an interesting one, including its famous Hiawatha train and its attempts to maintain a route to Seattle. Finally webTrainSim has written up how he used Ken Swenson's GE sounds in NR53, a little more complicated than using them with the default Dash 9 but it was a pleasing result in the end.
<22-Mar-03>: Spotted in the Train-sim.com library: firstly a fix for an incorrect ladder on a couple of Russell Beer's V/Line G-class locos, G524 and G527, vlgfix.zip (430kb, 21-Mar-03). Bill Scott has created Real Snow for MSTS, rfsnow.zip (276kb, 21-Mar-03), including night snow, ntsnow.zip (155kb, 21-Mar-03). The Real Snow's readme has full instructions on how to replace the snow files for a route. Jonathan Lewis has released his Ouray-Placerville route, orx.zip (where x=1, 2, 3, 4, 5, each file about 25Mb, 21-Mar-03), a narrow gauge route in western Colorado and part of Denver & Rio Grande's Ouray branch. As a matter of historical interest, visit the D&RGW site, especially the links page. There are some new additions at the Steam4Me site, including a set of VR AW carriages by Matt Austin, so it's worth a visit.
<21-Mar-03>: Russell Beer has added his V/Line G-class and Australian National BL-class locos to the Train-sim.com library: vlg511.zip (640kb, 20-Mar-03), vlg513.zip (640kb, 20-Mar-03), vlg524.zip (640kb, 20-Mar-03), vlg527.zip (640kb, 20-Mar-03), anbl30.zip (670kb, 20-Mar-03) and anbl34.zip (670kb, 20-Mar-03). Mike Simpson has an update to Route Riter version 3.8.40 to bring it to V.3.8.42; simply download the EXE at his site (bottom of page). Now you can check an individual activity, among other things, by simply choosing the ACTivity file from the file list without having to get Route Riter to check all consists and activities.
<20-Mar-03>: ConBuilder has had another small update, now to version 1.58, cb_158.zip (316kb, 19-Mar-03). Another utility, more useful to route developers, is RefCln - it's been updated to version 4.1, refcln41.zip (377kb, 19-Mar-03). The Screen Changer & Activity Editor Normalizer tool, mstsscrz.zip (374kb, 19-Mar-03), restores consists on the map in everybody's favourite<g> MSTS utility, the Activity Editor, when Activity Editor itself won't. Robert Fontaine has improved and made some corrections to his P42Dc cab, genp42_2.zip (1.1Mb, 19-Mar-03). They're the downloads in the Train-sim.com library that webTrainSim saw as interesting but note there are many more and those who want to build up a collection of rolling stock in a particular railway company's livery will find all they need at Train-sim.com. In the MSTS section of Avsim you'll find several New Zealand locos by Barry Russell Munro, featuring Barry's BazzaMotion whereby his locos move along with a rocking motion (note his locos have a high polygon count so will test your system's frame rates). <19-Mar-03>: Obo's MSTS Locomotive Catalogue has reached a 1,000 entries, something worth celebrating. ALVConcept has a collection of LGV Med activities, with versions for both the TGV Reseau and TGV Duplex, and a page, Necessaire, for rolling stock that's required. MP-54 rolling stock continues to be added to the Train-sim.com library, the latest being MPB-54 combine/MB-62 baggage railcars for to form a Pennsylvania RR MP-54 multiple-unit, mp54prbc.zip (1.5Mb, 18-Mar-03) and a PRR /PC MP-54 coach and trailer, mp-54_rp.zip (2.4Mb, 18-Mar-03). Knut Randa has adapted the SD40-2 sounds for correct throttle working from notch 0 to 8, sd402snd.zip (6kb, 18-Mar-03), and re-worked the GE sounds for Dash 7, 8, 9 and AC4400 locos, gesnd.zip (346kb, 18-Mar-03). <18-Mar-03>: A late line news! Carlos Gomez's Conbuilder has been upgraded to version 1.5.7 to fix the re-numbering of units so it starts at zero by default, cb_157.zip (316kb, 17-Mar-03). Other downloads in the Train-sim.com library include: rolling stock required for the Seaview Tour activity: Seaview Golsdorf 380, sv_g380.zip (3Mb, 22-Aug-02) and Seaview P40 #170, sv_p40.zip (1.2Mb, 24-Jun-02) (this P40 also requires the NALW Genesis packs); and Ian Bowles and Russell Beer have contributed a couple of New South Wales rolling stock, the NSW LCH hopper wagon, lch.zip (3.4Mb, 17-Mar-03) and NSW CHG van, chg.zip (534kb, 17-Mar-03). There are a couple of trainsets worth mentioning: Desiro MQ4901 in Danish DB liviery, with cabview, mq_4901.zip (5.1Mb, 17-Mar-03) and an FS ETR460 by Ernesto Imperato and cabview by Kenji Kimura, fsetr460.zip (9.4Mb, 17-Mar-03).
<17-Mar-03>: Sometimes he sits and thinks... webTrainSim, while testing an activity on a conventional route, as he was for a while today, wonders on occasions if the MS/Kuju developers ever anticipated that MSTS would progress in the way it has since release to the public. Did they envisage tram routes? Perhaps. Would they have ever believed that a route like Seaview would come along? No, but it has! Congratulations and accolades to Bill Burnett and his devoted, talented team. One of the first downloads webTrainSim spotted at the Train-sim.com library was the Seaview Tour activity, svt.zip (6kb, 16-Mar-03) with fix svtfix.zip (1kb, 16-Mar-03); this activity requires some extra rolling stock (see the readme). For LGV Med 2.1a, there's the Storm activity, lgvstorm.zip (182kb, 16-Mar-03). The MBTA route is now available, mbta_1.zip (11.9Mb, 16-Mar-03) and mbta_2.zip (30Mb, 16-Mar-03). This route covers Boston, MA, to Providence, RI, and the download includes an MBTA trainset.
<16-Mar-03>: Rick Lamp has updated both of his GE U50B locos, UP #34 and SP #8503, up_u50.zip (1.7Mb, 15-Mar-03) and sp_u50.zip (1.7Mb, 15-Mar-03). As well, Rick has updated the bogies (trucks) for his U50C locos, u50c_trk.zip (350kb, 15-Mar-03). Aaron Gold has been hard at work repainting some coaches and EMU sets into Seaview livery (plenty of people want to go sight-seeing at Seaview). For example, one of the 421 class EMU sets is sv421new.zip (3.4Mb, 15-Mar-03). You'll also need to download Dave Babb's 421 cab and sounds, 421cab.zip (2.8Mb, 15-Mar-03) and 421sound.zip (2.5Mb, 15-Mar-03). If you're wondering how to run an EMU on Seaview which isn't electrified, well, the 421 is a third-rail EMU and it's easy to trick MSTS into thinking it's a diesel. Those are some of the downloads noticed at Train-sim.com. At UKTrainsim webTrainSim noticed an update to Mike Simpson's Route Riter to fix a problem with compressing and uncompressing .S (shape) files; it should be at Train-sim.com in a day or two, or you could check Mike's own Route Riter download page.
<15-Mar-03>: Firstly, news of some downloads at the Train-sim.com library: a revised download of James Hunt's Amtrak Superliner coaches to fix the problem of a missing ACE graphic file, slcoachs.zip (4.4Mb, 14-Mar-03); there's a fix for the passenger view in the CityRail V-Set, vspasfix.zip (19kb, 14-Mar-03); and Rick Lamp has a couple of GE U50B locos, UP #34, up_u50.zip (1.7Mb, 14-Mar-03), and SP #8503, sp_u50.zip (1.4Mb, 14-Mar-03). In Small Fixes 10, there's some small fixes to make to the sound files for Edouard Staniczek's BB 12000 loco and Pierre Gauriat's CC 65500 diesel-electric loco. webTrainSim is having a go at trying Ken Swenson's modern GE sounds, gesnd10.zip (460kb, 20-Feb-03, Train-sim.com), which supplement the default Dash 9 sounds with more realistic turbo and traction motor sounds.
<14-Mar-03>: Here's a couple of downloads from the Train-sim.com library that caught webTrainSim's eye: a fix for UP GE U50C #5025 loco, up5025_a.zip (225kb, 13-Mar-03) and a set of Amtrak Superliner coaches by James Hunt and Sean Lim, alcoachs.zip (4.4Mb, 13-Mar-03). Yes, that is a clock at top left in the cab of Pierre Gauriat's CC65000 loco, cc655001.zip (4.6Mb, 11-Mar-03, from Train-sim.com), and yes, it is ticking (Pierre is using sounds by Belphegor). A press of the left-arrow key puts you in the number 2 cab.
<13-Mar-03>: The first download from the Train-sim.com library you need is an update to LGV Med to bring the route to version 2.1a, lgvm21a.zip (1.1Mb, 12-Mar-03) to fix a couple of signalling faults, speed limits and AI traffic in one of the Reseau activities. Daniel Moreno has provided a fix for his Common Ride activity on the Modern City Tramway, commfix.zip (48kb, 12-Mar-03). While talking activities, there's the Branch Line Society Tour on the Newark & Jersey City, bls.zip (94kb, 12-Mar-03), and the Local Stopping Service on the Settle & Carlisle with a Class 50, lss.zip (63kb, 12-Mar-03). Vince Cockeram and the NEC Track Team have released their stand-alone expanded NEC route, version 4, necv4.zip (30.9Mb, 12-Mar-03). NEC4 is about 300 miles (482.8 km) in length with approximately 740 track miles (1190 km). Mike Simpson has updated the Trainsimmer's friend, Route Riter, to version 3.8.40. Among new features, it can now check an individual activity for consists, loose consists and path, service and traffic files. For route developers, Route Riter can now produce update patches for a route. For reference purposes, webTrainSim has drawn up a table relating the Raildriver cab control engine type with various MSTS locos, power cars and trainsets, some of which require modifications to their ENGine files (e.g., the TGV Duplex and Speedworks TGVs).
<12-Mar-03>: There were plenty of puzzled passengers who were left standing at the TGV Avignon station as their train raced through the platform at about 110 km/hr. webTrainSim has to take more notice of the speed limit changes on LGV Med 2.1! On to more important matters, namely the French locos available for download at Train-sim.com: Blue Isabelle liveried BB67376, 67376.zip (3.3Mb, 11-Mar-03); Broad outline liveried BB67373, 67373.zip (3.3Mb, 11-Mar-03); Fret liveried BB 67324, 67324.zip (2.6Mb, 11-Mar-03), all by Florian Barrallon (Florian's cab for these locos was mentioned yesterday, pup67k.zip); and Pierre Gauriat's CC65500 diesel-electric loco used on TGV line construction, cc655001.zip (4.6Mb, 11-Mar-03). Philip Chesters has released his Trainsimming Modern Swiss Railways, mstsch10.zip (1.1Mb, 11-Mar-03); and Rick Lamp and Bob Boudoin have another 5,000 hp GE U50C, #5025, up5025.zip (1.2Mb, 11-Mar-03). By the way, these monsters had a B-B + B-B bogie set up to carry its two engines and try to get the power to the rail. Keep an eye out for Mike Simpson's next version of Route Riter, version 3.8.40; it now features a check on a single activity, showing consists, loose consists, any missing consists, and required services, paths and traffic files.
<11-Mar-03>: Some of the downloads that webTrainSim noticed today: a GE U50C in UP livery, GE's 5,000 hp answer to EMD's DD35, up5028.zip (1.2Mb, 10-Mar-03); a cab for BB67000/300/400/500 locos by Florian Barralon, pup67k.zip (2.6Mb, 10-Mar-03); BB67001 SNCF diesel-electric loco, including heater wagon for winter passenger services, bb670002.zip (2.4Mb, 10-Mar-03). From the screenshot above, you can probably guess that webTrainSim has installed LGV Med V2.1 and is now a happy lad. He's got a bit of work to do yet though: using Clem Tillier's and Edouard Staniczek's ideas to force the AI Reseau and Duplex trainsets to behave more prototypically, webTrainSim has to set up an 18-car Duplex AI set. If you're using the Raildriver control, a reminder you'll need to make a change to the brake control on the TGV Duplex and Reseau. <10-Mar-03>: Edouard Staniczek and team have updated their freeware TGV Duplex to version 1.1 to include all previous patches and the AI patch which is required for correct running of AI trains on LGV Med V2.1: TGVDuplex.exe (28Mb) can be downloaded at Edouard's site. At the Train-sim.com library there's an update to the Seaview 3 doodlebug, sv3dbfix.zip (3.3Mb, 09-Mar-03); Teemu Saukkonen's Newark & Jersey City route is at version 1.5, njc15.zip (67Mb, 09-Mar-03); Bill Bzak has provided a pack of passenger cars in Penn Central, New York Central and Pennsylvania RR liveries, ne_pass1.zip (8Mb, 09-Mar-03); and Andrew Bayly's fictional 1920's era western U.K. route looks interesting: dabley_1.zip, dabley_2.zip, dabley_3.zip (11Mb, 7Mb, 2Mb respectively, 09-Mar-03). <09-Mar-03>: Jeff Link & Frederick Dreany continue their MP series railcars, the latest being Long Island RR MP-70 bi-level sets with interior views, animated cabs and lighting, mp70_li.zip (2.4Mb, 08-Mar-03). Luc has updated the LGV Med signals, FAQ and downloads pages. James Brook has the following locos in development: 1990's Australian National GM class, S307 with Leslie Supertyphon horns and NSWGR 42 class diesel-electric. If you're having trouble with any locos powered with EMD's 567C motor, browse the maintenance manual. Other sites you may wish to browse include: European Passenger & Urban Transit, Alco World, Amtrak Operating Rules (1984), CSX Signal Rules, General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR), and Loco Operator Manuals (a revised link). <08-Mar-03>: Bill Burnett and friends have done it again! The Seaview 3 route is now available from the Train-sim.com library: seaview3.zip (68Mb, 07-Mar-03). As mentioned the other day, here are some screenshots. When downloads like Seaview 3 are too much for a dialup connection, it's handy to have a son with a broadband connection living about an hour away. LGV Med 2.1 is also on the list of downloads so webTrainSim will be far more contented once he picks up the CD in a couple of days. Another couple of downloads from Train-sim.com include a coloured keyboard template for printout of the majority of MSTS function keys, msts_kbt.zip (174kb, 07-Mar-03), and version 2 of London Underground CO/CP stock, lucocopv2.zip (6.7Mb, 07-Mar-03), with virtual cabviews (night and day), controls and lighting. The Heimat des Oberaffens site is where you can find the author's two routes, Linie 27 and NeuBrandenberg with screenshots and each route's readme. <07-Mar-03>: A couple of activities have appeared in the Train-sim.com library, one for NEC 2, bestonec.zip (28kb, 06-Mar-03) with plenty of traffic and only default MSTS rolling stock; and one for the Modern City Tramway V1.1, common1.zip (585kb, 06-Mar-03) but there appears to a problem with this one (see the Train-sim.com forum). If you're using Train Store, remember to unstore the route before installing the activity (this is more of a reminder to webTrainSim!). <06-Mar-03>: Noticed in the Train-sim.com library over the past day or two: Spanish high-speed EMU Alaris trainset, alaris.zip (2.1Mb, 04-Mar-05), which is in service on the Madrid-Valencia/Gandía/Castellón route (this trainset can also be downloaded from the Spanish Team's site); Australian AHSY limestone hopper wagon in 4 liveries, loaded & emtpy, au_ahsy.zip (559Kb, 05-Mar-03); a BNSF Geep 6-pack, gp_6pack.zip (12.6Mb, 05-Mar-03) which includes 2 x GP40M, 2 x GP39-2 and 2 x GP38-2 in various BNSF liveries; the Circle Test Route, aipriori.zip (3.7Mb, 05-Mar-03), to help understand circular and reversing loops and overtaking sidings. At MS Trainstop there's the first MSTS Belgian route, Antwerpen-Brussel Route, by Greg Celen (47Mb). To help webTrainSim's memory, he's made a page of his commonly-used cab and alias folders and file names. <05-Mar-03>: A brief news item - LGV Med V2.1, lgvmed21.zip (28Mb, 04-Mar-03), is now available for download from Train-sim.com (it'll be a late night at the webTrainSim roundhouse tonight while it downloads). See Luc's site for a link to patch Clem Tillier's (payware) TGV Reseau for prototypical AI behaviour; there's a patch for the TGV Duplex in the route download. Activities are included for both the TGV Duplex and the TGV Reseau. Before installing, follow Luc's readme, noting you need the six MSTS default routes available for installation - Train Store users, take appropriate action. <04-Mar-03>: Some of the downloads at Train-sim.com noticed by webTrainSim include: a pack of 5 F59PHI locos in AMT (Agence Métropolitaine de Transport de Montréal) livery, f59amt.zip (5Mb, 03-Mar-03) (if you download these, also download the F59PHI cab in 3window.zip then take a look at webTrainSim's F59PHI tune-up); a model of Southern Pacific's famous Daylight, e8spabba.zip (1.7Mb, 03-Mar-03) and e8sppass.zip (2.9Mb, 03-Mar-03). <03-Mar-03>: Trainsimming French Railways, part 3, mstsfr30.zip (1.5Mb, 02-Mar-03) is now available from the Train-sim.com library; also, William Koltz has some GP38 cab radio chatter and music files, train.zip (7.4Mb, 02-Mar-03) and wabash.zip (8.4Mb, 02-Mar-03). News has arrived of a new tram line route, Line 27 situated around Berlin (there are some screenshots at the Train-sim forum) which can be downloaded from www.thetrain.de (allow for busy times; 13.5Mb download file). <02-Mar-03>: Keep an eye on the LGV Med site this week - Luc is expecting that version 2.1 should be ready during the week. He's already made available a draft document on the realistic SNCF signalling scheme that he's implemented. Trainspotting - European Railways is another site worth visiting to catch up on railways on the continent. <01-Mar-03>: At the Train-sim.com library you'll find Philip Chesters' first two parts of Trainsimming French Railways, mstsfr11.zip (1.1Mb, 28-Feb-03) and mstsfr20.zip (1.2, 28-Feb-03) - part 3 will deal with passenger rolling stock, DMUs and EMUs; Edouard Staniczek's version 2 of the SNCF BB12000, with Belphegor sounds for realism, bb12kv2.zip (10Mb, 28-Feb-03). Those who have installed F.U.D.E., the Fairly Up to Date English Route only need download FUDE_Upgrade.zip (9.7Mb, 26-Feb-03) from UK Trainsim to upgrade to version 1.2. To find out all about F.U.D.E., download FUDE1_2_info.zip (2Mb, 26-Feb-03) and/or follow the discussion thread on the UKTrainsim forum. For some spectacular route scenery, take a few minutes to visit the homepage of the Swiss Alpentransit route.
webTrain Sim was, until recently, part of my webWiz Online site at http://webdotwiz.tripod.com. Due to a reduction in free web space by Tripod, these pages have had to be posted at their own site, http://webDotTrainSim.tripod.com. Not such a bad thing because there's now 20Mb for Train Sim! Email me at info@webDotTrainsim.com if you have questions or comments. I'll try to answer as best I can. Certainly post me if any step-by-step instructions on various how-to pages need clarification. |
