• <31-Jul-05>: There's a second patch for the Dorset Coast route, Patch1-2.zip (470kb, 30-Jul-05), at UKTrainsim. This second patch came about when the route author's fix for the points at Branscombe depot caused signals between Poole and Branksome to not operate. All is now well - check the Dorset Coast Patch post on the UKTrainsim forums.

• <30-Jul-05>: UKTrainsim has patches for the Dorset Coast route and the Tunnel route: Patch1-1.zip (480kb, 29-Jul-05) and tunnelpatch-1.1.zip (400kb, 29-Jul-05) respectively. Amicitreni has a new route, the Campania 2005 (98.8Mb, 29-Jul-05) and if you want more info about the Campania region of Italy, try the Wikipedia entry and In Italy Online. Train-sim.com has a set of rulers by Ted Curphey as an aid to place objects in Route Builder, ff_ruler.zip (81kb, 29-Jul-05), and a pack of three Canadian Pacific AC4400 locos from Hugh Reilly, hrac44_1.zip (19.5Mb, 29-Jul-05).

• <28-Jul-05>: At Train-sim.com there's Bob Boudoin's version 4.7 ALCO physics to give your ALCOs realistic performance, v47al.zip (49kb, 27-Jul-05), and a number of Amtrak shunters, such as No. 551, amtk551.zip (1.2Mb, 26-Jul-05), with sounds and cab, ssbcommn.zip (5.2Mb, 26-Jul-05). The UKTrainsim library has the The Tunnel - Ashford to Lille route by Frank Thomas, the first of five files being tunnel-01.zip (15Mb, 27-Jul-05). Latest news from The Cabmaker is that he's building new cabs for the BR 614 and BR 335 when he has time away from the normal things of daily life.

• <26-Jul-05>: Two new routes have made their debut. The first is the Dorset Coast route covering Southampton to Weymouth available from UKTrainsim in ten files, the first file being Dorset1-01.zip (16.8Mb, 25-Jul-05), each of the other files also being about 16Mb. Note you need the UK Finescale track system from Trainsimfiles. For more info about the route, see the New Dorset Route thread on the UKTrainsim forums. The second route is Napoli - Caserta by Peppe Iannuzzi, available from Trenomania (373Mb, 25-Jul-05).

• <25-Jul-05>: Shawn Becher's Wenatchee & Cashmere route, an upgrade for version 1.0 and 1.1, is available from the Train-sim.com library in fourteen files, the first being wcr12_01.zip (648kb, 23-Jul-05) and the others each about 10Mb in size. As well Marcel Despont has modelled an 1869 Union Pacific R.R. Photograph Car, upphov11.zip (1.4Mb, 24-Jul-05), and a Canadian Pacific Business Car, cp34_v11.zip (741kb, 24-Jul-05). Trenomania has an upgrade for the Comiso Modica route (sixteen files of 10Mb each).

• <24-Jul-05>: Trenomania has new locos by Davide Bianco and Mr. Rokko: E633-014 (8.32Mb, 23-Jul-05), E636-375 (5.8Mb, 23-Jul-05), E632-006 (9.28Mb, 23-Jul-05), E632-020 (8Mb, 23-Jul-05) and E656-577 XMPR (8.13Mb, 23-Jul-05) by Mr. Rokko. As well there's a cab for E656, E655 and E656 shuttle models by Mauro Ciociola (8.58Mb, 23-Jul-05). Amicitreni also has this cab, Cabina E656-E655-E656 Navetta v4, Cab_E656-655-656Navetta_v.4.zip (8.58Mb, 23-Jul-05), as well as the Plasser & Theurer track maintenance machine, P&T_PR3611.zip (7.73Mb, 23-Jul-05) by Antonio Mancinelli. Dick Cowen has some new ALCO RS3 locos for Canton RR and Family Lines Central at Train-sim.com, flc-rs3.zip (5.3Mb, 23-Jul-05); for some screenshots, see New RS3 shapes on the Train-sim.com forums.

• <22-Jul-05>: New South Wales 46 Class electric locomotive No. 4605, au_nsw46.zip (3.7Mb, 21-Jul-05), by Paul Woozley is available from the Train-sim.com library. You can find more info about the Class 46 on the SETS NSW Electric Locomotives page, including the General Working Instructions for Firemen - Observers manual (the Operating Instructions manual appears to be unavailable at the moment). Frank Musick has an updated ENGine file for the Baldwin Babyface, babyengf.zip (26kb, 21-Jul-05).

• <21-Jul-05>: At Train-sim.com there's an update to the Columbus Locomotive Works' SD7/SD9 locos, clwsd7_9.zip (13.3Mb, 20-Jul-05), a repaint of NALW's Amtrak P42 loco, p42ver5.zip (450kb, 20-Jul-05), Chuck Schneider's (of NALW) tutorial on installing the NALW GE Mega pack, instgemg.zip (748kb, 20-Jul-05), and Frank Musick has updated his Central Railroad of New Jersey PD-30 No. 2000, cnj2000.zip (1Mb, 19-Jul-05), and contributed a Baldwin Locomotive Works Babyface cab, babyface.zip (2Mb, 19-Jul-05).

• <19-Jul-05>: Just a couple of snippets today. The Graphics15 team have announced that Stadtbahn U79 version 3 will be ready on August 14. Train-sim.com has a model of BNSF SD40-2 No. 7835 in BNSF's new livery, llwsdbnf.zip (1.3Mb, 18-Jul-05).

• <17-Jul-05>: At Train-sim.com Ian Dodd has an update for his GO carriage to fix the .S file, goco2.zip (137kb, 16-Jul-05), and Marcel Despont has a range of five- and seven-plank English style wagons, such as London & Northwestern Railway mineral wagon, lnwr_v11.zip (1.2Mb, 16-Jul-05). UKTrainsim has a (freeware) pack of tankers from Blue Arrows in various liveries, BATS_Tankers.exe (2.93Mb, 16-Jul-05). MSTS.NL has a new freeware route, Rotterdam - The Hague - Utrecht.

• <16-Jul-05>: The Train-sim.com library now has Columbus Locomotive Works' Baldwin RF16 Sharks, clw_rf16.zip (10.4Mb, 15-Jul-05), in B&O, D&H, PRR, and NYC liveries. As well, Ian Dodd's Bombardier bi-level driver trailer and an updated bi-level carriage are available in tmlgocab.zip (9.8Mb, 15-Jul-05). UKTrainsim has three named Class 92s, Schubert, Thomas Hardy and J.S.Bach (each about 2Mb download), and the Network Rail Class 86, Network Rail Class 86.zip (2.3Mb, 15-Jul-05). At Amicitreni.net there's Renzo Omodei's FS E633 026 in XMPR livery, FS_E633_026.zip (8.2Mb, 15-Jul-05).

• <15-Jul-05>: It seems Trainsimfrance.net is on the air again and that's good news for French MSTS. The latest addition to their library is a cab for the SNCF Z7300, cabine Z7300 version 1.exe (4.45Mb, 14-Jul-05). Route Riter has been updated to version 6.2.75, RRit6_2_75upd.zip (1.49Mb, 13-Jul-05), to fix a possible error in the the trk file under the Duplicate Route with a new Name option. As well there's a new version of Carl-Heinz' TsUtils (note the warning from Mike to remove the old TsUtils folder before installing the new version). Both Amicitreni.net and Trenomania.it have Gaetano Vella's electric loco FS E645 003, FS_E645_003.zip (5.7Mb, 15-Jul-05). Frank Musick has modelled the unique Baldwin DR-6-4-2000 cab unit diesel in New Jersey livery (see the readme for a detailed history), CNJ Class PD-30 No. 2000, cnj2000.zip (1.2Mb, 14-Jul-05), and CNJ Class PD-30 No. 2005, cnj2005.zip (1.1Mb, 14-Jul-05) - they're both available from Train-sim.com. Finally, keep an eye on the Train-sim.com library for the Columbus Locomotive Works Baldwin RF16 Sharknose locos; see the The Sharks are here Train-sim.com forum post for more info.

• <14-Jul-05>: Train-sim.com has the Cleveland Union Terminal route by Todd Stoffer in four files, each about 25Mb, the first being cut_1.zip (25Mb, 13-Jul-05). As well there's the Columbus Locomotive Works SD7/SD9 set, clwsd7_9.zip (13.3Mb, 13-Jul-05). You can get the replacement world tiles for Union Station and the missing RFP2 ace file for the RF&P route from the RF&P fix post on the Train-sim.com forums. For a list of non-default equipment for the RF&P, see RF&P non-default eqpt etc.

• <13-Jul-05>: Steve Dunham's CSX Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac route, rfp2.zip (38Mb, 12-Jul-05), is now available from Train-sim.com. ALCO fans will be happy to see another contribution from Jan Henning Gettkant, a set of Burlington Northern Century models, bn_cent.zip (19Mb, 12-Jul-05). Keep an eye on the library for Columbus Locomotive Works SD7/SD9 and the CUT (beta)... route. A new tool for route builders is REF Editor and you can follow discussions on this thread at Train-sim.com. The TML Studios team's Berlin subway route was mentioned in a post on the Train-sim forums the other day. You might like to look at the route itself and route builders will want to find out more about the software that the TML Studios are using (all links are to the English version of the TML Studies site).

• <12-Jul-05>: The Train-sim.com library now has Ian Dodd's new model of his GO Transit F59PH No. 520, gotrains.zip (10.6Mb, 11-Jul-05). Paul Watson has three repainted ALCOs, Delaware-Lackawanna and Western New York & Pennsylvania C630s, dl630.zip (1.3Mb, 10-Jul-05) and wnypc630.zip (1.3Mb, 11-Jul-05), and Western New York & Pennsylvania 424, wnypc424.zip (1.5Mb, 11-Jul-05). Steve Dunham has uploaded his RF&P route (CSX Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac line from Fredericksburg to Washington in 2001) and it should appear in the library in a day or two. Steve has several screenshots at his site and you can follow progress on this thread in the Train-sim.com forums.

• <10-Jul-05>: Ian Dodd has withdrawn his GO Transit EMD F59PH locos from the Train-sim.com library for the time being due to copyright problems with the sounds he was using (see GO Transit F59PH returning soon). However, he'll be uploading revised files soon. He's uploaded his GO Transit bi-level carriage, blcgoa.zip (1.1Mb, 09-Jul-05), and Bob Boudoin has upgraded the LRC ENGine and carriage WAGon files for Ian - see the Prototypical LRC consists? thread on the Train-sim forums for attachments for download. Also at Train-sim.com is Pierre Forsberg's Lidingobanan route as a trial version, lb_05.zip (114Mb, 09-Jul-05). La Route Soleil version 2 can be downloaded from the author's site and there's more info at Funtrain.

• <09-Jul-05>: Just a snippet of news today. The Graphics15 team have announced that they expect Stadtbahn U79 version 3 to be available on August 1. U79 version 3 extends U79 version 2 by including Duisbeg Line 903.

• <07-Jul-05>: There's a set of E652 001 locos in three different liveries at Trenomania.it. UKTrainsim has the GNER Olympic Bid Class 43's, 2012_GNER_upload.zip (3.5Mb, 06-Jul-05), by Anton Courtney-May and Dave Babb, and two steam locos, James Gough's BR Standard 7 70037 Hereward The Wake BR_70037.zip, (7.19Mb, 06-Jul-05), and War Department 2-10-0 No. 600 LMR Gordon600.zip (0.66Mb , 06-Jul-05) by Brian Walker and Thomas Baldwin (The Olymic Bid logo will now need changing. Ed.). Ian Dodd has his VIA Rail Operation 2006 F40PH No. 6411 loco, via6411.zip (2.3Mb, 05-Jul-05), at Train-sim.com.

• <05-Jul-05>: Version 1.2 of the Romio-Brenno route, (100Mb, 01-Jul-05) is available from Amicitreni.net. TrainClaudius has version 3 of his La Ligne RER B de St Remy to Gare du Nord route available along with rolling stock - see the RER B V3 claudius dispo post at Simtrain-fr.org. The Train-sim.com library has version 3.15 of XTracks, xtracks.zip (9.8Mb, 01-Jul-05), by Okrasa Ghia and contributers. Ian Dodd has contributed a number of Canadian VIA rolling stock, including VIA LRC loco 6900, lrc6900.zip (1.9Mb, 04-Jul-05), and an LRC (light, rapid and comfortable) coach, viacoac2.zip (1.8Mb, 04-Jul-05). You can see 6905 at Via Rail LRC-2 6905 and see and hear LRC-2 loco 6921. Jonatan Gronoset has his Sea View Coconut Company 0-6-0 saddle tank loco, seav060t.zip (699kb, 01-Jul-05). All those snippets of news have thawed out webTrainSim after he spent the weekend in the nation's capital where the temperature didn't reach 10 degrees Celsius.

• <01-Jul-05>: Australian Add-ons for MSTS has some more new models, in particular the Queensland Railways class 4000 diesel-electric by Brentton Smith, AU_qr4000_MSTS1_Setup.exe (10.7Mb, 30-Jun-05), which has been long awaited by many trainsimmers - you'll find it on its own download page. There are also a variety of new freight wagons such as National Railways TraileRails and Victorian and New South Wales Flexivan containers and wagons by Russell Beer. ALCO fans will be pleased to see another of Jan Henning Gettkant's models, Lehigh & Hudson River C-420, lhrc420s.zip (7Mb, 28-Jun-05), in the Train-sim.com library. At Trenomania.it Davide Bianco Dado has contributed E636 080 (9.8Mb, 30-Jun-05) and there's Mauro Ciociola's FS MDVC Pack, FS_MDVC_pack_By_Mayo.rar (25.1Mb, 30-Jun-05), at Amicitreni.net.
