Line news April, 2006

• <30-Apr-2006>: The following is a summary of what web•TrainSim has caught up with lately:

• he's installed Hibu's ICE-3 sounds (but hasn't heard them yet) and written up a few tips if you need help (scroll down to the bottom of the ICE-3 section if you've already made the other changes for more prototypical performance).
• believe it or not, web•TrainSim got through his RB42-3 Essen to Dortmund activity (he was up to test run #10) so you can now give it a try yourself.
• Route Riter has been updated to version 6.3.86, RRit6_3_86upd.zip (2.24Mb, 21-Apr-2006), to update the Package Activity option in the Check Selected Activity area.
• Australian Add-ons for MSTS has William Ivey's re-liveried NSWGR Class 42s and Freight Australia H-class diesels: AU_nswgr42x_MSTS1_Setup.exe (3.67Mb, 27-Apr-06) and AU_faHclass_MSTS1_Setup.exe (8.63, 27-Apr-06).
• The Denmark 2000 Version E route has been updated, as of 24-Apr-2006, and can be downloaded from Jernbane (193Mb).
• Train-sim.com has the Virtual District Line Team's London Transport 1938 Tube rolling stock, lt38tsv2.zip (3.8Mb, 27-Apr-06), by Jimi Ibbett.

• <25-Apr-2006>: Both RB33 activities, Monchengladbach to Oberhausen and Oberhausen to Monchengladbach, have been revised and are ready for download. Take care with the signals after Viersen on the Monchengladbach to Oberhausen activity. There is other news to mention but time is pressing so hopefully web•TrainSim can catch up tomorrow or the next day.

• <15-Apr-2006>: Time flies when you're having fun with the Activity Editor... here are the good news items since the last update:

• new sound sets by Hibu for (links should take you to the download page):
• BR 146 electric locos, BR146_Sound.zip (2.16Mb, 12-Apr-06), from The-Train.de. web•TrainSim has had plenty of time to listen to these over the past few days and recommends them - see the E146 electric loco section in Small Fixes 17 for some help in adjusting the Sound lines in the ENGine file for DB 146 106-0 (the same change is required in Graphics15's BR 146).
• ICE 3 403 trainset, STP_DB_403_Sound.zip (2.97Mb, 10-Apr-06), from The-Train.de. web•TrainSim hasn't installed these sounds yet but did notice WAGon and ENGine files in the zip so be careful before extracting these especially if you've made tune-up adjustments of your own.
• sound sets for ICE 1 and ICE T
• Amicitreni has version 2 of the FS ALe426-506-TAF trainset, Fs-ALe426-506-Taf_V2.rar (11.5Mb, 13-Apr-06),
• Trenomania has the Orte-Foligno-Firenze LL e DD route (322 Mb in 16 files); there's a map here.
• There's an updated set of Overland carriages for Australian Trainsimmers at Australian Add-ons for MSTS, AU_Overlandv2a_MSTS1_Setup.exe (3.73Mb, 11-Apr-06).
• At Train-sim.com web•TrainSim noted the following:
• The Thames-Mersey route, version 4.1, from London Euston to Liverpool and Manchester. The download consists of four files, each about 58Mb: merseyc1.zip, merseyc2.zip, merseyc3.zip and merseyc4.zip, all dated 13-Apr-2006.
• A patch for the ChicagoLand route, chilndm1.zip (38kb, 10-Apr-06).
• Jeff Bergner's RandomRoute, version 3.0, rrout300.zip (3.8Mb, 14-Apr-06), with new features.
• a number of SAR (South Australian Railways) rolling stock, such as SAR Alco 700 class diesel loco, sar_701.zip (1.0Mb, 04-Apr-06).
• Nearly there...
• S-Bahn S6 service K-Nippes to Essen activity is ready (web•TrainSim was ahead of himself and uploaded it a few days ago).
• RB33 service, Monchengladbach to Oberhausen, is ready for you. If you use DB 146 106-0 in web•TrainSim's consist, save yourself lots of pain by fixing the brakes. Apply, and enjoy, Hibu's new BR 146 sounds as compensation for spending a couple of minutes to make the train stop when it should!
• Hopefully everybody can have an enjoyable break over this Easter season.
• If you're reading this in IE7 beta 2 preview, you'll see that web•TrainSim has repaired his style sheet so no more lines being underlined when the mouse is moved over the page. For the record, IE7 was picking up a hover statement that both IE5.x and IE6 have ignored for years.

• <04-Apr-2006>: web•TrainSim is in catch-up mode (again) but he's got a new activity ready for you to try, S6 S-Bahn service Essen to K-Nippes, which isn't as stressful as RB and RE services in which you never know where the next yellow is going to come from (usually around the next curve as it works out but they're not deliberate - promise). The S6 service, K-Nippes to Essen, is yet to be tested and should be ready in a day or two. The-Train.de has a set of five activities, Actpack für WE10.1 - 5 neue Acts, and a set of graphics of track plans of Wupper Express 10.1, Gleisplaene Wupper-Express 10. Route Riter has also been updated to fix the Change MSTS Registry Path function - it's now at version 6.3.81, RRit6_3_81upd.zip (2.24Mb, 29-Mar-2006), and can be downloaded from its Steam4Me page. Train-sim.com has a new route, the ChicagoLand, chiland.zip (84Mb, 01-Apr-06) and there's more info in the forums on the A New Route - ChicagoLand (ChiLand) thread.
